PHINS - My mix

Riverbender.com has been video taping the shows we do for the Block Party in Alton, Illinois. So now I have a way to share with you my mix and the music of my main band PHINS.

FYI, the May 2nd show was recorded using the riverbenders camera mics. The July 25th show they took a matrix feed off the board.

Stage was provided by the venue, sound and lights are from Sound on Site, the sound company that Jerry Turnbow, the keyboard player in the band, started after buying the PA for the band to use.

He has now ramped it up to two full rigs. This is the A rig, for bigger shows, the B rig is powered EAW boxes (mains and monitors) for indoor and smaller venues. The lights are LED Pars.

I was running FOH and Monitors, and another guy was running lights. Crowd was around 1,000-1,300 people through the night. Good show. Lots of energy and lots of fun.

Sorry, I meant the video itself. It's a nice promo piece.

Ah... the video was done for riverbender.com, a promotional site for the Alton area. We simply get the benefit of their work. I just suggested negotiating with them to add the newest videos to the new CD PHINS is about to release. Because I agree that the video is an excellent promotional tool.

This also shows what I love about my second job. This was a good show, high energy, large crowd that was into the show. Shows like this make it fun, even though that was a 14 hour day.

And getting to work with that calibre musicians... bonus.
