Members fastboy Posted September 9, 2009 Members Share Posted September 9, 2009 Looking for a pair of decent powered FOH monitors for playing the usual pub / club gigs plus for functions and have been offered a new pair of DB Basic 400's for a steal. Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they any good? They seem to be pitched directly against the SRM 450's but I can't find any reviews of them so wanted to see how they stack up before potentially pulling the trigger. Members Barisaxman2000 Posted September 9, 2009 Members Share Posted September 9, 2009 I haven't used the Basic series, but I have used the slightly higher end Opera 415's, and I was very impressed with the clarity and power of these. I'd take them over a Mackie 450 in a heartbeat. I've never been able to get past the harsh horns on the 450's. I'd say give them a shot if the price is right.
