Members Filthy Posted November 11, 2009 Members Share Posted November 11, 2009 Metallica was in town a few weeks ago and I was curious as to what new challenges their in-the-round stage set-up would present for mixing. They sounded good, but how do you mix a band when their is no front of the stage? I didn't notice 4 different mixing areas for each side of the stage but I may have not noticed. Just curious - it looked like it would be hard to do and sound good, which they did. (Mix/sound wise I mean - Lars has to be the worst famous drummer I have ever seen. Enter Sandman was a total schmozzle of dragging fills and slippery tempos. He didn't even come close to the great drumwork recorded on the Puppets and Ride The Lightening tunes. But I digress...) Guess I haven't answered the OP's question either, I'm hardly a Metallica fan anyway. Horrible band that made horrible records.....but that's just me. First of six parts...
