Blackmore's effects (delay?) in Son of Alerik and Hungry Daze (Deep Purple)

Hi,
can you tell me about effects and techniques used in certain parts of two Deep Purple's songs off Perfect Strangers album? Did Ritchie use a delay pedal or these are studio effects added during the production stage?

1 Hungry Daze 2:37 until 3:02 mark. See and hear below (I can hear a delay effect thorough, although Blackmore is known to not use delay at all?).

2 Son of Alerik:
7:07 - 7:57 (I am not sure if this is all delay or he picks all those notes but for example the part at 7:22 - 7:23 must be delay. Then from 7:40 he does some volume swells?).

Any answer appreciated.
