The Ibanez DWB3 is Doug's 4-string model. It combines exotic bubinga with active pickups and an EQ that was custom-designed for Doug. The extreme double-cutaway body of the Ibanez DWB3 gives you total freedom to reach even the highest frets with ease, making solo work on the G-string even more fun! The Ibanez DWB3's design makes the most of premium tone woods, with light ash wings secured to the maple/bubinga through neck. It's the perfect combination of tone and light weight, making the Ibanez DWB3 sound great and feel great, too.

Active pickups and custom EQ for wide tonal range and focused sound

Ibanez enlisted the aid of master pickup builders EMG to outfit the DWB3. The EMG 35P4 gives you the precision tone of a classic bass, while the 35J4 is great for jazzier playing. Plus, imagine running up to 100 feet of cable from the DWB3's low-impedance output to your amp! You don't need to worry about loss of high-frequency response. This Ibanez beauty doesn't need a DI for going straight to a recording or live board, either.

In addition, the Ibanez DWB3 features a 2-band EQ that was custom-designed to Doug Wimbish's tonal taste. The Ibanez EQB-DW2 offers rapid tone adjustments for bass and treble. Combined with the active technology, this EQ means your DWB3 can assume just about any tonal characteristics you want!

Superior neck strength and fret response

At the core of the Ibanez DWB3 is its 5-piece maple/bubinga neck. With its neck-through design, it delivers the awesome strength and stability you need for rock-solid intonation. 24 Medium frets are set into the rosewood fingerboard, making the Ibanez DWB3 a pleasure to play.
