A Gifted Engineer

There is such a thing as a "gifted engineer" - just as there is "gifted" 'talent".

 

I set up a stage for a "garden party" on Saturday night - probably a dozen performers - some more "practiced" and "seasoned" and some not - and I had the oportunity to watch and listen as my drummer (who techs our sound) - "dialed em in" one by one. It was incerdible. One after another - they went up - started off sounding "OK - good" and ended up sounding "Pristine". He would find and then capture the character of each voice till each sounded (I am sure) as good as they ever had - and Just Like Themselves - only better. (Not sure that will make any sense - but).

 

I was totally impressed. Really Something.

Well - I am not saying that I actually understand it any better (although he tried to use some wrods to explain some of it to me) (LOL) - but I definately APPRECIATE IT more. From what Tony was sayng - it had something to do with the "midrange". (Breaths in - and then - out.)

 

There is a difference between "skilled" and "gifted". That is what I'm sayng. (But of course - with time - and experience - the differences could become negligeble.)

 

I was super impressed with Tony Robinson - and super glad that He was "working" with ME.
