The secret to making it sound good is hybrid picking. Billy Gibbons is such a great guitar player. What he lacks in "flash" he more than makes up for in feel and always being 100% "in the pocket". As well as writing incredibly catchy riffs! If you're looking to learn this or maybe looking to improve the way you're playing it, I'm confident this vid will be of some help.
