What, no speculation thread? Dreaming about synths too lonely in HC? Well, no matter, a collection of actually happening things might be fun for a change too!

Not much interesting to hear yet, but at least some more System-1:

[video=youtube;mXOgZimnznE]

I also like these mini keyboards with poly AT. CME Xkeys or the QuNexus seems sensible way to get Poly AT, as I would mainly use it for pads where I don't necessarily require ordinary keyboard. But very nice to see a bit longer one:

[video=youtube;IFeSrZIfLrk]

When I saw it first time, I was wondering if you could combine two of them for even longer reach, and now the CEO says, that this is possible. They consume so little juice that iPad can feed 7 of them.

Also, where the hell is MFB!?!? I need to hear something, anything, about the Dominion 5 before making my shopping plans.

Video of new Waldorf string machine (new forum is emm a little awkward)

here:

[video=youtube;ZwvkX-mT0bU]

Nice. 275€.

Yeah, the new forum design might take a bit of accustoming. I like the layout a bit more than what the previous one had, but now they threw the colors with the bath water...or did they...Now after taking another look at it I am not sure if the change is that big. I guess I didn't get accustomed to the last one either.

Kurzweil Forte. Hey! At least a graphical screen with color!

Just kidding. 3-4Gb piano samples not only sound promising, but also look cool on the spec sheet! 8 velocity layers and all! Insert effects seem to have doubled to 32.

[video=youtube;hRcjXGC3NWU]

Cannot wait to see the price. Even less I can wait to see the new interface!!! (I am just now having a wrestling match with my self for deciding between FA-06 and pretty good PC3K6 deal...and seems, that I am not winning.)

This looks pretty cool also:

[video=youtube;rzi-bqz_6TY]

For some reason I have had the strangest craving to have different layouts for notes, and this looks rather nifty contraption while waiting to hear if the Linnstrument is too expensive for me. Shame that Nick didn't ask about the Dualos keys. Poly aftertouch would make it...probably cost more than the 1000€ it is now.

The AKIA Rhythm Wolf (199 US Dollars) looks promising. They said they blew the power rails on the demo model so sound demos will be straight after MESSE. All analog with step sequencer. CR78 to 808 style sounds but no Clap.

Kick, Snare, Percussion (FM analog engine), Hi Hat open and closed plus a BASS synth.

6 PADs

16 step sequence buttons

If it sounds good they will sell a boat load ;-)

Aa! Nice to hear...I mean bummer! I was getting pretty nervous after seeing the Wolf itself being completely mute, but fortunately there is less cynical explanation, than what I was brewing.

I'm not after a drum machine at the moment my self, but I am super happy to see Akai still in synth business!

And damn I want one of these things too, one day:

Thanks for the info and videos! What's the sample rate and bit depth of the new Kurzweil system?

I would guess 48K 16 Bit based on old sample rates and notes here:

http://kurzweil.com/knowledgebase/k2661/sampling/103/

http://kurzweil.com/knowledgebase/k2000/sampling/107/

Also based on comments I agree with here regarding the 16bit depth for paly back. Since higher depths only needed when recording:

http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthr...eil_FLASH_PLAY

However as this is new tech they could have changed all of this, but if they had you would think they would mention it ;-)

Physis Piano K4:

[video=youtube;Dl591DyAJ7Y]

A Midi keyboard, expandable with a physical piano modelling engine. It has two slots...I wonder, what the second slot is for? A successor of OB-12? (not holding my breath, K4's coloring just reminded me a bit of OB-12)
