Members red bean
hey all, someone just gave me an old roland d-50, which i understand is a good solid keyboard. BUT, i'm looking for something with a really good piano sound. is there some kind of card or something i can get with a better piano sound (i don't know much about keyboards/synths). OR should i just sell the roland and get a kurzweil or something(do they have the best piano sound? any other good recommendations? not looking to spend too much either, of course) just looking for some help. thanks! Members scubyfan
You're not gonna get a good piano sound out of it. Period.
Members Synthoid
The D-50 was never a contender for having good piano sounds. But it wasn't meant to be......just like you're not going to hear a warm string pad from a DX-7.
Members brzilian
The D50 is an awsome synth for cool airy pads and nice analog-like sounds but sadly lacks in the realistic piano sound dept. It wouldn't sell the D50 if you have a use for its other sounds, just find a decent MIDI module for piano sounds - maybe a Roland JV1010 would do. Members scubyfan
Kurzweil ME-1. You will *love* that piano. Goes for $350-400 ish, but has plenty of other usable sounds.
