I have a rare Trace-Elliot AH1200SM head available for sale. It was made around '92, and has *maybe* 30 hours of use on it. 100% studio use, never gigged with.

Below is a link to a picture. it looks filthy in the pic, but that was just dust from sitting in the corner of a practice space. It is all cleaned up now and I'll probably put a new pic up this weekend.

This monster is a 1200 watt amp. 600watts per side (2 Ohms), like an AH600SM, but twice the power! Yes, this has that "famous" early 90's GP7SM EQ. A guy at T-E in the UK told me that there were only around 10 or 11 of these heads ever made. Take that FWIW. I don't know how many were really made, just repeating what he told me. He also told me (and this was about 3 years ago) that a fair asking price for one in my condition was $1500 (I'm asking less). This amp is more powerful than anything that Trace-Elliot is making today, and I'm selling it for less than most of their heads. For around the same price of their current 500 watt head, you can have this, and it's much nicer. For WELL below their selling price for their current 1000watt model you can get more power and better (quality) EQ (the 1000 watt has a 12 band EQ). Check the prices around the net. You'll see that the street price on an AH1000-12 is $1600

I am asking $1300. I am wide open to price negotiations, but not trades. Please PM me for further details, etc.

This thing is HEAVY, so I will give dibs on local offers - those than can pick it up or I can meet halfway or something. I am in the Atlanta, Ga. area. I haven't taken it to UPS for a shipping estimate yet, but I'm guessing shipping will be in the $60 range. DOMESTIC (USA, 48 continental states) ONLY. The package will be insured for the selling price.

I know that even at much less, this is a lot of $$$ to spend on something through the mail. I am perfectly willing to do escrow, but ONLY via a legit escrow service!!! There are lots of scam escrow services out there so watch out! I think that eBay endorses escrow.com We can work all that out later.

So why am I selling? I'm not a bass player and have no need for it. I got it from someone a long time ago in lieu of owed money and used it for some studio stuff for bass that myself and someone else recorded. It has been collecting dust for the past couple of years. This thing needs to be played!

I don't have the manual, but I *think* I have a pdf manual for the AH600SM somewhere. If I can find it, i'll put it up somewhere where you can grab a copy and look at the exact specs on the amp, just double the wattage.

If you have any more questions or anything, please don't hesitate to email me. I'm going to put this up on a few more sites as well. I will check my PMs here every few days or so. If you have general questions about features, etc. (IOW, something that anyone might benefit from knowing) then post them to the thread.

Thanks for looking,

Happy new year! Anyone with any offers?

I will accept an Axe-FX Standard in trade for the T-E and some cash (IOW, you send me the Axe-FX and I'll send you the T-E amp head and some extra $$$).

If you have questions or want to make an offer or trade, please post here or PM me.

Thanks!

EDIT: New pics:

http://www.brain21.net/forsale/P8080214.JPG - What appears to be a scratch near the AM1200SM logo is not, it's just a piece of hair that flew onto it. :-)
