Members washtub_bass
A cardboard box upright bass looks absurd, until you hear the sound quality. The Bogdon Box Bass is a 2-string upright bass that is available as a DIY kit. The oak neck assembly is pre-cut and pre-drilled. The only tools needed are a screwdriver, a hot glue gun, packing tape, and a razor blade for cutting along-the-dotted-lines on the cardboard box. A Bogdon Transducer is included at no extra cost. The $69.95 Bogdon Box Bass is not a replacement for a standard Double Bass, but rather the Bogdon Box Bass is a novelty that sounds incredible. The box bass is gig worthy as it is recordable. video at http://www.geocities.com/washtubbass/cardboardbass.html

Members washtub_bass
thanx Tom, 200 of these box basses have been sold from my ebay site. you can read my feedback from the purchasers at http://myworld.ebay.com/aje3330/ you can even contact each of the purchasers to ask their honest oppinion about a cardboard box 2-stringed electric upright bass. i'm biased, i think it sounds damm close to a standard wood double bass.
