This one is an '87 (by the E7 serial #) and is a gorgeous shade of metallic red. Cosmetically, probably a 7-8 out of 10: light playing wear and a few dings and scratches, but none through the paint. There is one prominent ding on the topside that I can send a better photo of if you're interested. Hardware is perfect, plays great. I have it set up with heavy-gauge Ernie Ball roundwounds, but I'll throw in the set of Fender medium gauge tapewounds in the photo if you want 'em (long story why I've got 'em). If you don't know what J Bass Specials were, they are MIJ only, P-Bass bodies with both P and J pickups. Mine includes an OHSC-- the groovy 80's Fender injection-molded case.
