Members no-logic Posted March 7, 2010 Members Share Posted March 7, 2010 This is the Hofner HCT-185 Contemporary Series 4 string bass. It is modeled after the Artist 185 made in the '60s. It is a 34" scale with a maple neck with pearl inlays. It has two vintage sounding Hofner humbuckers with two volume and two tone controls along with a on-off slide switch for each pickup. It has a high mass bridge and nice solid tuners styled after Hipshots. It plays nice with a bit of a chunky neck similar to a P bass. It is well balanced with no neck dive. It is in excellent condition other than some fine scratches on the pickup covers and minor scratches on the pickguard. The rest of the bass is perfect. The sunburst finish is really nice!!! It comes with a nice padded gigbag. These are hard to find right now. $200 plus shipping to con US only. Paypal only. (Currently on Ebay. I will end the auction if it hasn't sold yet.)
