I just bought a 4004Cii and love the fact that, for me, it is considerably lighter than the 4003. Plus I can get the used L much cheaper which, in this economy, the family could use the extra money. This was purchased in April of this year. The only blemish that I can see is a very very tiny dimplelike nick next to the neck pickup. You have to get down and look at it on an angle to see it. Original Ric strings and it plays like a dream. The only adjustment that I was going to make on it, if I were keeping it, is to increase the volume on the G string. The G string has a little less volume than the other strings. I do not know how to take the cover off, and do not want to try it, by myself, for fear of messing something up. I have a friend who lives near my brother on the other coast and I was going to take it with me when I visit him and let my friend show me how to do this. It comes with the original case.
