In all seriousness, from a poetic and artistic standpoint, which of these lyrics is better in your opinion?

Last night, in the moments my thoughts were adrift

And coasting a terrace, approaching a rift

Through which I could spy several glimpses beneath

Of the darkness the light from above could not reach

I spied wings of reason, herself taking flight

And upon yonder precipice saw her alight

And glared back at me one last look of dismay

As if she were the last one she thought I

Fee

In the cool shade of the banana tree

On the rugged trail toward the balcony

A child of the twentieth century

A dried up goliath and a weasel named fee

Far away in another place

A fading beauty named milly grace

A gospal singer with pox on her face

And a bamboo cane to help her keep the pace

Fee was a buddhist prodigy

Long past the age of maturity

Someday he knew it would set him free

Like it did for floyd the chimpanzee

Oh, fee, you

"the 2nd one is a masterpiece. it reminds me of an old Beck song, or maybe They might be giants. i imagine the backing track as having trippy reversed guitars and something unusual supplying percussion."

hehe. The 2nd one is art. Great, great melody and trippy ambience.

Fee is actually one of Phish's better tunes. It's a nice job (musically, not lyrically).

And though they were sad

They rescued everyone

They lifted up the sun

A spoonful weighs a ton

Giving more than they had

The process had begun

A million came from one

The limits now were none

Being drunk on their plan

They lifted up the sun

Forcing it off with their hands

The trap door came undone

Above our heads it swung

The priviledge now was won

Being drunk on their plan

They lifted up the sun

Shouting as hard as they can

The doubters all were stunned

Heard louder than a gun

The sound they made was love

That is such a kick ass song! Thanks for posting. I think Yes fans would really enjoy that one! Great live as well. Huge bass sounds.
