I do know the black label is the made in Japan model. The pedal is also labeled as the Super Distortion & Feedbacker. DiMarzio had already registered the name Super Distortion and forced Boss to change the name to Super Feedbacker & Distortion. This changed occured in 1985, so I assume this pedal is a 1984 model.
