Members The Who
Anyone know what keyboards Rick Wright used on- Piper At The Gates Of Dawn & A Saucerful Of Secrets ? Thanks.
Members wishfulsinful909
I'm not a hundred precent sure, but more like 95% sure, he used Vox Continental and Farfisa on those two records. There is a rare video out there of the Floyd doing "Let there Be more Light" and that looks like a Vox to me in it. I think there's a definitive website dedicated to their gear used, but I am too damn lazy right now. Google! Help!
Members TDman
I just got a video of PF playing live in a TV studio in 1970. Rick's got a Farfisa and a Hammond... dunno if that helps.
Members scubyfan
It's more important what he used for FX and how he processed the signal, because many bands of that era used the same two synths that he did, what the other posters mentioned. Members greaseenvelope
FYI,I believe the early pink floyd echo box was a Binson Echorec. It looks really cool, with a spinny magnet which someone has tried to explain to me once, but I couldn't possibly replicate the explination. I just know it's different from the echoplex/space echo-type system.Check out: http://homepages.enterprise.net/greenworld/page2.htmIt is a great page of vintage echo units, including several binsons. Lovely antique gearporn.todd p.s.: BTW: Was there really no VCS3 until Meddle? I'm listening for it in the my Atom Heart Mother era tour bootlegs and running into something I think is synthi in the middle of "Set the Controls", but could easily just be too much echo on the organs. No synthi in the Ummagumma tour gear photos either. Anyone know for sure?

Members Unfed
inside the remastered CD for 'Piper...' there's a live shot of him playing an off-white and black(?) organ that says *something* Duo. i can see the same organ in live shots from the 'Tonite Let's All Make Love in London' film from the London '66-'67 CD, anyone actually have this? he's credited with only playing the 'organ and piano' on Piper... ah, it's a Farfisa Compact Duo. Google is nice, found this as well: http://www.angelfire.com/home/FloydWaters/richardwright/equip.html
