FOR SALE

Oh boy - sure don't wanna do this, but it is time to let her go :cry: - testing the waters here before I commit to Fleabay!

My issue is: I'm a lefty who is trying to break free from playing a right-hand guitar - I bought this guitar in 1996 from the original owner during my lefty upside-down playing phase, but have since gone over to the dark side (true lefty now!) and feel a true righty should enjoy this guitar. Nah, the REAL reason is I'm GASsing over another lefty guitar I think I need! No trade offers at this time please!

This guitar is very nice - it is an American made (of course!) 1990 Fender Strat Plus in transparent Blue burst metallic - this guitar is close to 100% original (only change being a Fender white pearl pickguard that I was told was installed when the original owner bought it) and comes with its original hardshell case.

As can be seen from the pics, this guitar has not been modded in any way; the pics also show the finish has darkened down just a bit over the years by the ghosting where the pickguard has resided all this time.

It has the then-standard red-silver-blue lace sensor pickups, TBX tone control, 5 way switch, brushed Schaller locking tuners, micro-tilt neck adjustment, original Wilkinson roller nut (I have a Fender LSR roller nut I'll also send along, as well as a Hipshot tremsetter I never got around to installing).

The Lace Sensor logo coloring has been partially rubbed off mainly the neck pickup, leaving a trace of color and the embossing; the others are in very good cosmetic shape.

There are no real issues with this guitar - the body is close to perfect - all controls work as they should without noise - frets are in real good shape (just look at that fretboard - no worn finish on this one!) - the neck has one shallow ding on the backside (see pic) - aside from that the neck finish is also almost like new.

I'm gonna ask $800 packed/shipped/insured with loving care - you guys know where these guitars rank in terms of price point and their place in the Fender hierarchy (just below Custom Shop) - any comments are encouraged! :thu:

Hey, I'm very interested in buying this but I need to wait until my stuff sells. I'd be willing to sell you something for a real discount if I have anything you want. Also, thats probably the prettiest guitar I've ever seen. Good luck selling it.

The serial number appears to be 1999, not 1990. Can you verify?

1999 or 1990 (that nutt suggests 1990 as they later switched to LSR roller nuts):

Serial Number on Peghead Decal.

U.S. made Fenders, starting in mid-1976 has the serial number on the peghead. Note the following number could be off as much as two years. Generally speaking, a "S" prefix equals the 1970's, "E" prefix equals the 1980's, and "N" prefix equals the 1990's. Note "E" and "N" prefix models are sometimes also Japanese-made (see below).

7600000 ("76" in bold) = 1976-1977

800000s = 1979-1981

1000000 to 8000000 = 1976-1981 (7 digits)

S100000's-S600000's = 1979-1982

S700000's to S770000's = 1977

S740000's to S800000's = 1978

S810000's to S870000's = 1979

S880000's to S980000's = 1980

S950000's to S990000's = 1981

E000000's to E100000's = 1979-1982

E200000's = 1982

E300000's to E310000's = 1983

E320000's to E390000's = 1984-1985

E400000's = 1984, 1985, 1987

E800000's = 1988-1989

E900000's = 1989-1990

N900000's = 1990

N000000's = 1990-1991

N100000's = 1991

N200000's = 1992

N300000's = 1993

N400000's = 1994

N500000's = 1995

N600000's = 1996

N700000's = 1997

N800000's = 1998

N900000's = 1999

PM's replied to - thanks for the comments guys!

Yeah, it IS a '90 - I bought it from the first owner who had to unload it back in November '96 - since I'm "converting" to a true lefty guitar, this one is just marking time as a closet queen - I don't NEED to sell it, but it just feels like its time -

As for the neck, a blue guitar just screams out the need for maple; rosewood just seems wrong (but then again, that's just MY opinion - :facepalm:)

BTW - for those who might need some references, I go by the same moniker on EBay and have a 446 feedback number - but I'm beginning to hate that place! :mad:

Yeah, in a way I agree with that the rosewood would be kinda wrong, what dis one need a tot black ebony fretboard. :love: I'm not very fond of brown, that is the light brown rosewood I so often see, maybe that's why I own so few guitars. But I love the smell umm feel of rosewood over maple.
