Members pink floyd cramer
Any of you 760/770 etc owners ever try this combo? I know it won't make it sound like a 122 but it seems like it may make up some of the difference. Also, is it OK to lay the leslie on it's back or side when moving it from gig to gig? (manual says to keep it in upright position). I want to hear your experience with this please.
Members Bones
Sorry - don't have any experience with that pre-amp. Had a solid-state Leslie in the 70's. Just didn't have that Leslie sound and was shamefully overrated and underpowered. Traded it in after a few months. As far as transporting in non-upright position - my 122's been through it all over the last 30 years (has the scars to prove it). I've often been forced to transport it on its back. Spring & pulley system seemed to survive Ok but I did break a wire to the upper motor transformer - most likely due to the pulley assembly bouncing around on its springs during transport.
