It is a convertable model and can be used as an open back by removing flanges and resonator, or full body bluegrass instrument. It has a pro headstock repair that is unnoticeable to the touch and it plays and sounds great. The HSC I have is for an open back. Very cool banjo! Looking for mandolin or acoustic guitar trades (+/- cash/other trades). Trade value at $1,700.00 OBO. All trades considered! I have pics available through email request.
