Guitar through MicroKorg?

Hey, I recently got a MicroKorg (and I love it) but I have one problem. On the Korg site it says that it's possible to run other instruments through it but when I plug my guitar into the audio in I cant hear anything. There is definately a signal because the audio in LED lights up when I play a note yet there is still no sound. Does anybody know how I can fix this? Cheers.

If it works the same as the Alesis Ion, I think you should set it on a vocoder patch to process an external signal.

Obviously then you have to edit the patch to let the instrument play normally (if you don't want it to be vocoded), with only filters or effects.

Forgive my ignorance as I am very new to the world of synths but what does this mean and how should I go about doing it? Thanks for the quick replies, it's much appreciated:)
