Members black1ce
These areas of my guitar area are lacking and I'd like to pick up a few excercises to really get me going. Also, I'm looking for a shredding soloing kind of instructional book , does anybody recomend anything in particular?

Members StratKat
hammerons can be practiced using a linear scale technique thats simple to perform. Take you high "E" string and play an E major scale on that string only. Now play the scale but add two open high "E" string notes inbetween each scale note. Each note gets the same length of duration. Now, use a hammeron technique after picking the first 3 open "E" notes when you hit the second note in the scale. Then do a 'pull off' of it to hit the next two open string notes and then another hammeron for the 3rd note in the scale etc.... Do this up and down the string for the scale in major and minors and then start playing the same pattern on the other strings. When done fast and cleanly its a trick you will use here and there, now and then forever...
