Can someone name the minor modes?

i know them, and i know the chords that go along with them, but can someone tell me there names? thanks

The modes built on the minor scale (harmonic or melodic) don't have common names.

For instance, the mode built on the second degree of the melodic minor is often called both the Phrygian #6 or Dorian b2.

Unless you're talking about the modes of the major scale that are considered minor, then you've got Dorian, (second degree) Phrygian, (third) and Aeolian (sixth).

ok i got ya , i thought they had regular names , so basically you call them whatever they are

The best way to avoid confusion is to just say, for instance, 'Second mode of the melodic minor'.

Certainly, more of a mouthful than 'Phrygian #6', but if the other person only knows it as 'Dorian b2', then you've just wasted your breath.

There can be several names for a scale as Anomandaris said. Take the seventh mode of the melodic minor scale:

Super Locrian scale
Altered scale
Pomeroy scale
Diminished wholetone scale
