Members thamiam
Commonly referred to as the Phrygian Dominant mode. The fifth mode of the Bb harmonic minor scale. Bb C Db Eb F Gb A (Fred5 - you've got two C#'s in that scale.)

He's saying what I tried to say... Thanks man, I'm usually quite careful not to type any misleading information or irrelevant information, at least here in the Loft. Members thamiam
mattoxxx - Go to http://www.geocities.com/thamiam and you can download an Excel spreadsheet I made that has all the notes and intervals for all the modes of the Major, Harmonic Minor, and Melodic Minor scales. If you're doing this kind of thing regularly for school, this could be a good resource for you.

Members Viktor Johanson
Why not just call them what they are, like fifth mode of harmonic minor? It seems like people use several names for each of them. Confusing.
Members motherlode
Call it what you like!!...it' like Stavinsky once said , "he words without the music!", Play the chord ( F7 b9 b13) then play the scale that was supplied against it , then tell me that's not the sound of the chord!, for those more interested in writting books, nomenclature is YOUR problem... , but those interested in playing MUSIC...well, ... you were given the MUSICAL answer...
