However, his approach to melody and harmony are not necessarily revolutionary. Additionally, being self-taught, his approach to explaining theory tends to be terse and convoluted. (He'll admit this himself). If you're interested in advanced harmony, check out some of Jerry Bergonzi's or Hal Galper's books or transcribe some of Mike Brecker's stuff.
