Members Bud Ice Man Posted July 11, 2005 Members Posted July 11, 2005 Taking a summer course at Belmont in Nashville and it is some pretty difficult stuff to firmly grasp let me tell ya.A7 +9-13 with the b7 on the 4th string for starters. That's kinda hard for me to visualize quickly. E half diminished sus. in all 4 inversions, ouch! Damn drop 2's.Oh well, what doesn't kill you...
Poparad Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 It's a bit of a mind bender at first, but eventually you get quicker at it. When you think about it, it's not actually that much material (4 inversions, with 4 basic variations), it's just that they're asking you to recall it from different perspectives, so if you approach it with the mindframe that it's going to be one of the chord shapes you're already familiar with, it's not as frustrating as building a voicing from scratch.
Members Bud Ice Man Posted July 13, 2005 Author Members Posted July 13, 2005 True that, true that. It is becoming easier I must say. Thank god I came to this school with very good reading skills and music theory background, that truley does help out.
