Sweeps for slower players

I'm not much of a speed player and sweeps are a problem for me. But there's a riff in Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover where he does a sweep that's easier to play than it sounds simply because he's using hammer-ons and pull-offs on each string. This makes for a slower sweeping motion but still allows for a lot of notes. Here are a couple of exercises I came up with to use the same technique:

That's pretty cool, but I'll need to work on the fingering to make it sound "smooth". Seems like a usual issue for me.
