Members EzzO)))
Hi, my band is going to be covering the song American Ruse by the MC5. I was wondering if anybody knows where I could find the tab for the song or if somebody could help me by tabbing out the short guitar solo. I'm really bad at figuring solos out by ear (even easy ones like this). Thanks

Members EzzO)))
No, those are totally amazing! ... but I'm not looking for the lyrics (I know those already). If you have the time you should re-read my initial post, I believe it mentions something about the tab for the guitar solo. I understand if you missed that though, what with my cryptic language and all.

The first link in the list I provided in my initial response is this one: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/l/loman/american_ruse_tab.htm about halfway down the page, of that link there is this: Solo b: -------------------------------------------------------------| b: -------------------------------------------------------------| g: -------------------------------------------------------------|? (x4) d: -------------------------------------------------------------| a: -------------------------------------------------------------| d: --17^/////--17^/////--17^/////--17/////--| ?????????????? (bend more each time) b: ------12------12--12-------12------12--12---------14------14--14---------15------15--15---| b: --12----12------12-----12----12------12-------14----14------14-------15----15------15-----| g: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| (x2) d: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| a: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| d: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| b: ------15------15--15--------15------15--15--| b: --13----13------13------13----13------13----| g: --------------------------------------------|(x2) d: --------------------------------------------| a: --------------------------------------------| d: --------------------------------------------| b: ------17------17--17--------17------17--17-| b: --15----15------15------15----15------15---| b: ------18------18--18--------18------18--18-| b: --16----16------16------16----16------16---| b: ------19------19--19--------19------19--19-| b: --17----17------17------17----17------17---| b: ------20------20--20--------20------20--20-| b: --18----18------18------18----18------18---| b: ------21------21--21----22-| b: --19----19------19------20-| I did actually check that before posting my link. I guess if you have the time you will re-check some of the other links too Another useful place to search for stuff, other than google, is youtube. If you type "mc5 american ruse cover" into the youtube search bar you find VknP7TvA9oY While this guy's guitar is butt-ugly (and to quote Shrek ... "is he compensating for something? ) you should get some good clues about how to play the lead from there. HTH GaJ
Members EzzO)))
Thanks, I checked youtube, found a live performance by MC5 on some 70's tv show. But that clip is much more helpful (the tv show footage shows the guitarists fingers but cuts to his face for the solo). I found that tab before but I think its for a cover version of the song. I'm not sure if it was originally done in that weird tuning, that's why I kept looking.
