Welcome to Lesson Loft!

The lesson Loft is the place to discuss and learn about music, lessons & learning in general. Members can post about lessons they have developed, lessons they've found useful, lessons learned, lessons best forgotten, . . . . just about anything having to do with learning about music or a specific instrument in general. Many of the members are guitarists (why is that guitarists are more prone to argue about learning?) but many also play other instruments. Primarily we're about learning about music, so music theory is a common subject around here.

If you have a question about learning something specific or how to learn in general, start a thread. But be aware that the forum members may expect you to do some work yourself. Ultimately we each have to learn to teach ourselves. By all means reach out for help if you feel you need guidance or reassurance, just remember that understanding music or an instrument is a very personal thing, so what worked for someone else may not work for you. Chin up, you will get past that current sticking point.

Note that the Lesson Loft is an On-Topic forum. This means that our threads and discussions should be about learning music. There are other forums for arguing about politics for example. Civility will be rewarded with civility. There is no shortage of "heavy hitters" that frequent this forum, so there is plenty of talent to tackle any concern that is on-topic. GreenAsJade's: Would-you-like-some-help-tabbing-something? An on-going discussion on "the best way" to respond to requests for help. The LL commonly gets requests for help with tabbing some song or transcribing the chords or whatever. This linked thread is an on-going debate about providing a simple answer (feed a man by giving him a fish) vs teaching the OP how to learn (teaching them how to fish). This thread provides useful insight into how the forum regular contributors think about requests for help.

Summary: most people here are very willing to help those that are willing to "get their hands dirty", but we are not a transcribing service. If you want to learn and you are willing to work to learn - then you've come to the right place. Cheers and enjoy!
