Members comecon_186
Im helping a friend pick out a new pedalboard .. and i can't remember many of the companys . . I have NYC pedalboards . .and the ones that are sold at places like guitar center. . what are the other companies ? It has too be sturdy as he is in a touring band and he would prefer to have the cables all hidden . . or mostly. any suggestions or companies to check out would be much appreciated. Thanks Marc
Members iwantpedals
haha, so you know one company. good work. i'd reccomend the pedaltrain. i have it. want another one (not that it's small). sturdy case, i could run over the "train" with a towing truck. hides the cables wonderfully, especially using planetwaves, or george l's patches since you can cut the right length. Members mockingbich
I've got a pedal train and run it with a voodoo lab power supplyhttp://www.voodoolab.com/pedpower.html http://www.pedalpad.com/ makes a nice case that you can hide cables in Don't get the furman - I used to have it and got lots of ground hum....even when I ran it through a voltage regulator first
Members pete7cene
yeh pedaltrain (www.pedaltrain.com), i use the pedaltrain2 and am thinking of going for the bigger one. it's great, really easy to use a lot of thought obviously went into its design. some people say it's not as good as other boards because it doesn't have a built in power supply, but i prefer it this way, because a lot of boards with built in supplies fall short when you start getting pedals with rare sockets, or pedals that are positively grounded etc. it's best bang for the buck, can get the cheaper off ebay too. Members Hell Bites
A question for pedaltrain users: Do you have to use velcro or will the pedals stay in place when transporting the case (in other words, does the foam hold them down alright)? Members UnderTheGroove
I have one from NGM pedalboards and it's been great. With the cover on it is a self contained case. I've been really happy with mine...one of the main reasons I got it a few years ago was to go on tour. NGM Pedalboards

Members gearnut
For the pricey exotic crowd, check out trailer trash boards. Very cool looking: http://www.trailertrashpedalboards.com/

I'd check out TMCases http://www.tmcases.com for a quality board that sits inside an ATA case. I have one of their boards/cases and it seems like it will definitely stand up to the riggors of road life. They're a little heavy because of the ATA style case, but it will keep your pedals from getting destroyed when packed in the truck. Also, being able to use the pedalboard while it sits in the bottom of the case is a plus. It makes for a fast setup/teardown; you can unplug a couple of cables, just slap the lid on and go. No fumbling around looking for your case or bag. Just my $.

It isn't slanted, but having the raised shelf for the second row serves the same purpose. I have no problem getting to the pedals in back.
