Members JVanDe7
what is the most logical way of figuring out what is loose or failing in my guitar? all of a sudden it sputters and cuts in and out alot. i have a nice multimeter. whats the best way to start eliminating things and so forth? i'm a bit stoned to be figuring these things out on my own... Members AcousticControl
finding an intermittent in your guitar wiring is gonna be difficult with a meter. what i would do is get it open on the bench, plug it in, and try poking around to narrow down where the problem might lie. then either replace that component/wire if it's obvious, or evaluate further with the DMM. good luck. Members jcn37203
Just open it up and check all the wires. Sounds like a detached solder point. Easy fix if you klnow how to work a solder ironl. Don't do it stoned.
Members hookstrapped
Could just be a wire shorting out. Might be fixed by moving wires around. Check to see if it still sputters with it opened up and the wires unpacked and no visible touching that would cause a short.

Members dbx
You could have a bad switch or the contacts inside it are dirty...try some contact cleaner in there and see if it clears up...
