Members styxnstones Posted June 16, 2005 Members Share Posted June 16, 2005 Hi Folks, I'm a geezer guitarist and am going to get back into playing electric after many years of acoustic. I'm just a home hacker that enjoys classic and hard rock as well as most virtuoso guitar instrumentals. That said, here's my question. I have limited space for having traditional floor amps and effects so would like to build a modest and inexpensive rack system that I can plug into. I know nothing about the amps available. Does it need to be a "guitar" amp or will a studio type amp work? I might want to eventually do some modest home recording. Where do I start? All I have right now is the guitar and 110 volt power outlets! All opinions appreciated and if I haven't provided enough info please let me know. I'm quite excited about doing this but need to do it on the cheap until I can convince my wife I'll use it. Thanks and keep up the good work on this site.
