Members Ascension Dream
I am looking for an analog synth that has a choir type vocal setting (kind of like in exit music by radiohead). Also, it would need to have a decent string synth as well... I'm pretty new to this, Ive only ever used computer based programs, so I could use whatever help. Thanks. Members orangefunk
Sounds like a Mellotron is what you are after.... therefore an analogue synth is the last thing you want. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mellotron I'd think about a rompler (Emu Vintage Keys has a mellotron sound) or perhpas something like Reason if you have a laptop/PC as that has a load of mellotron samples. Alternatively you could try MTron. http://www.gmediamusic.com/gforce/m-tron/M-Tron.html or perhaps the new hardware keyboard from manikin http://www.manikin-electronic.com/en/index.html

Members Morandar
Well, I think that any rompler could obtain a sound like this: just take a choir wave (not strictly necessary), pass it through a formant effect, and cut the frequencies. Add some reverb 'cause you ought to Or use a vocoder eheh!
Members Madcap-513
Johnny also used, extensively, a Ondes-Martenot on Kid-A, which is some sort of soupped up Theramin, and without a doubt costs a bajillion dollars (I'm guessing at least 5k, they look rare and complex).
