Members Locky Posted October 15, 2005 Members Posted October 15, 2005 How is this unit? I have an offer to buy one for $300, including a footswitch. I am looking for something I can throw in the FX loop of my Mesa F50. Right now I have a Boss GT3 in front of my amp, used only for effects. It kills the tone when I put the GT3 in the loop. I am perfectly happy with the GT3 except for the loop thing. Would the POD Pro be an upgrade? Tell me a bit about it please. Thanks guy
Members Flat Fifth Fury Posted October 15, 2005 Members Posted October 15, 2005 The POD is an amp simulator with effects. The GT3 is more of an effects processor that has amp simulations. I would stick with the GT3. The tone suck thing is most likely how you have it set up rather than the unit itself. However there are many other cost effective multi effect processors out there that are far better than the GT3. However they will not be floor mounted so you will have to get a control pedal to change their presets/functions. The GT3 can be made to work better than it currently is so I'd start there and save for a better processing rig.
