Members shinobimilton
Hey guys, just a question. What do you guys think of the ProCo RAT II? or the Turbo RAT for that matter? (i know that in an effects forum that would hear of nothing but analog and true bypass.. this is extremely sacrilegious... ) Can it do Overdrive to Distortion? how about Fuzz? Members Hunting_Sad_Bears
it does overdrive well, but you lose a little mids and bass. it's best used with an eq pedal. as a distortion, it's nice and meaty, though it can lack a little definition, good when used to boost your amp with though. full out, it sounds like a big muff. Members tigger_ferret
It is one of my favourite distortion pedals. It goes pretty well from OD-Dist and can get a little into the fuzzy sort of sound. If you want a good solid Distortion then I'd say go for it. They are still cheap and easy to get your hands on, try eBay first and see how you go. I haven't seen to many people who don't like the Rat. Members hide
i usually use it for light OD sounds that is trebly, bitey or gain all the way up fuzz-like sounds for solos...sounds great for these two applications, but kinda fall short for heavy rock distortion sounds cos it always sounds kinda harsh, and no definition.
