Members wezman2k
why aren't all pedals made with this? i don't see what could be so complex about it.

Cost, primarily. Economy of scale- if making a pedal true bypass costs 2.00 extra per unit (say, for Boss), think of the millions...
Members wezman2k
you do mean $2.00? i'd be willing to pay $2 extra for true bypass.

Members ceviche
Hmm..? A friend of mine mentioned something about the need for bypasses in stomp boxes, though I forget the reason why. Does it have something to do with switch noise or something? Also, could some of you all recommend some stomp box brand names (yes, Boss was mentioned...) that come with bypasses? I currently don't own any SB's, but I'm getting to wonder that I might need a few in my quest for tone.
Members Jeremy Skrenes
some pedals, like delay, have the effects trail off after the pedal is bypassed. a TB pedal wouldn't allow this. so most delay pedals are buffered. Also, Visual Sound pedals have a great buffer built into them, one of the best in the business, so they don't need to be TB.
