Members Alex D
Well I just got a visit from my cable man who put new cable in my house because the old cable wire was allowing noise to enter the line. Well he leaves but to my suprise he leaves a huge roll of brand new cable with only half of it gone. He hasn't come back for it so I going to use it. So can I make it into a instrument cable? I swear I've read it somewhere that they sound great but are stiff. So my question is can I use the coaxial cable as a instrument cable? Will it sound any good? has anyone here tried this before? Members jonny guitar
For a buck a foot I would just buy some Canare or something else of that quality rather than using that bulky stuff..save it to tie your girlfriends wrists to the bedposts. Members bobby yarrow
Who knows what the impedance characteristics and shielding of ordinary coax is? Not me. Use it to connect audio components, as speaker wire, or to tie up your girlfriend.
Members 88mm
I used some belden #???? (can't remember the seria) it is great for Speaker but so-so for guitar. It has kindof a mellow high end roll off. Check out audioasylum.com and do a search on coax for guitar.
