Members DanyoSound
I have an old Ibanez Chorus pedal that I just bought, and I believe that it hasn't been used in a long time. When I plugged it in, it sounded noisy and scratchy, but after a little bit of use it already sounds better. Is it possible that there is nothing wrong with the pedal? That is just needed to be excercises with some juice, and that now it will work fine?
Members light years
maybe it just needed to see some action. hope it works out. since yr kinda in my area, do you know of any guys who do repairs on pedals?
Members DanyoSound
I had one guy repair one of my pedals and he did a {censored}ty job. Ask Stompboxman. He just had his ADA Flanger repaired and it sounds great. He also lives in OC.

Members danny60
Get a can of electrical contact cleaner. (I suggest Deoxit)Spray a little in the jacks. Take the back cover off the pedal and spray into the pots(the electrical part of the knobs) there's usually a opening where the wires hook up. I've brought back pedals from the dead with a simple cleaning. It's also good to occasionaly spray cable ends before insertion.

Members DanyoSound
The pots aren't scratchy at all actually. The problem is the signal just gets dirty all of a sudden, and the B output jack seems to be a little noisier than the A output jack. Again, it's not as bad as it was a few hours ago. That's why I'm wondering if it just needs to be used a little before it will sound good again.
Members Sir H C
Spray the jacks not just the pots. If unused a long time the jacks often get a coat of gunk on them that can cause noise.
