Members bobbtoz
I had the boss ch-1 ( just traded it in towards a ce-2) and it sounds great for the distortion stuff, but lacks in the clean area. On the other hand the ce-2 sounds fantastic on the clean stuff, but gets a bit mushy when distorted. Maybe I just need a little more time w/ the ce-2 to get it tweaked in right. It is definetly a warmer sounding pedal than the ch-1, but doesn't sound as tight or crisp on distorted parts.
Members Speeddemon
Try the DOD FX60;it's a bit more subtle than a CE-2, but has more shimmer clean. And the Ibanez CS9 and BC9 are good choices too;the CS9 being the brighter one, and the BC9 being the lusher one. And yes, I play lots of 80's hardrock/metal, with chorus on most clean parts, though I have such tremendous pickups on 4 of my guitars, I sometimes don't even use it; just compression and delay get the job done.
