Members wednesdaysworse
I plan to add a 1X12 speaker extension cabinet to my Rivera Pubster 45W. It has an output jack for a second speaker. By the jack it says, "Total min z 8 ohms 40 W RMS speaker jacks in parallel". What type of speaker can I safely add in terms of ohms? Also, any recommendations as to a particular brand of speaker and cab? Cab extension will only be used occasionally at outdoor summer fests, so I don't want to break the bank. Stock speaker in amp is a Celestion 12" Seventy 80. Any advice appreciated.
Members YTLP
The minimum allowable impedance is 8 ohms. If the amp's speaker is 16 ohms you can add a second 16 ohm speaker in parallel with it for your final 8 ohm value. If the amp's speaker is 8 ohms you can add a second 8 ohm speaker in series with it for a 16 ohm load.
Members aeroslepperin
sorry, ot real quick: does the ohmage you run at affect low end at all? (ex. 4 ohms vs. 16 ohms. - will either sound more full?)
