I doubt you are going to hear much of an appreciable difference by swapping opamps. I haven't tried the mods yet, but since they are so simple, I doubt they are really going to sound like my '65 bassman :)

It wouldn't be that difficult to add a tone stack to the Ruby--lots of folks use the Bigg Muff Pi tone stack because it is so simple to build.

Do you have some type of pedal that will give you a clean boost? Sending a boosted signal into the Ruby really does sound good. I used my cheapo Fish and Chips graphic EQ pedal with all the frequencies set flat and just used the boost.

Hmmmmm....how about a clean boost circuit, a double ruby and a simple tone stack? Those would be great mods for the Ruby Mark II.
