Members Themetallikid
question about EQ's and Wahs? If you run both in front of your amp, which order, if you put a wah before your EQ can you shape the WAH sound like the 535 does? Just curious.... Members dangerous dan
Welcome to a world of pain !! The wah is just a bandpass gain filter, i.e. it selects one frequency and amplifies it, just like choosing a freq on your EQ pedal. You adjust this freq by rocking the pdeal. If you put EQ first and have certain freq a few dB higher (say 2Khz) then when the wah is at the same freq and gives it a gain of a few dB you now have EQ gain (in dB) x wah gain (in dB) = lots of dB. I reckon this is bad and you'll certainly here an uneven sound when playing across the freq range of the pedals. Run the EQ after the wah, this will give much better audio performance, if you find the wah it not wahhing certain freq's you can boost or cut as appropriate. Members Themetallikid
Thats what I was kinda hoping by putting one after my wah. I like the sweep of it, but was wondering if I woudl tweak the EQ of the wah a bit. of if an EQ would defeat the purpose. I know, I'll play around and find out.
