Members nickt
Hijust got a new Xpression to use with my DSL 401. sounds good, but just to check, I'm assuming that I should have the FX mix on the amp at 100% and control the FX level on the Xpression? Also if you have this unit do you have the reference level switch on -10 or +4? TIANick
Members Jaymeister
To take advantage of hush, EQ, trem, rotary speaker, etc, you should set your loop mix to 100%. I don't know the specs on your amp, but if that makes it a full serial loop, then that should be fine. You can control the FX level in the xpression through individual effects level parameters in each patch, or else use the mix control for the overall patch. There's also a way to adjust whether the delay trails have an effected sound or just the dry sound. All in all there is a ton to tweak. As for the -10/+4 setting, I use the +4. I then set the input levels of my clean patches so that when I jam hard the red light comes on only occasionally. I then set the output so that I get unity when the unit is bypassed or out of the loop. Using the +4 setting gives me the proper levels without increasing the noise floor. YMMV.
