Members Jet Bycraft
I was listening to Glass Harp live at Carnegie Hall the other day and noticed a flanging effect. Does anyone know what type of flanger Phil Keaggy was using back then? Was it an electronic flanger or did they use two tape decks?

Members Ronsonic B
It's been forever since I heard that record. I was a HUGE fan. They were local and played at my junior high school. I've gotta find a copy. Ron

Members GuitArtMan
Phil's playing on that is amazing. And to the best of my knowledge those volume swells are done with the volume knob and not a pedal. At least I've seen some photos of Phil with his pinky stuck straight out working the voulme knob on his Les Paul!
Members PKfanSteph
Yes, Phil does the volume swells with his pinky. He's got all his electrics set up so he can do that. Here's a few recent pics of it, but I've seen video from a few months after the Carnegie Hall show and he does it there as well. Not sure if that's the same effect Jet Bycraft was wondering about, though. That CD is on sale for $10 at Phil's online store right now.
Members Range Rat 7
I saw Keaggy in '78, by then he was using an electronic flanger. I saw him in '76 and he didn't use effects at all. Just a Les Paul and a Fender Twin. He's a master at the volume swells with his pinky. That was something I definitely picked up from him.
