Members Condomondo
Anybody have or played through both a chandler SDE and UD Stomp? How does the UD compare in its abillity to emulate tape delay? Does the UD deliver modulated slapback echo on par with Chandler? Thanks Condo
Members dot-dot-dot
I've not tried the Chandler, but the UD is excellent. Eight bands, each modulatable, each with a high and low pass filter for the repeats, each pannable and individually mixable, plus you can change the series/parallel routing and cascading. Members Soapscum
I love the UD myself...but i would really suggest you try out the magic stomp which has all the delay sounds of the UD at a fraction of the cost.
Members dot-dot-dot
Most of the delay sounds of the UD. It doesn't offer the same flexibility of routing, nor the ease of editing.
Members Man In space
Only thing I don't like about the UD is that you can't tap all the bands at once. Makes a tap tempo stereo delay impossible, which is a must for me. See sig. Jan
Members MxOvd
I wonder why Yamaha stopped producing it.
Members dot-dot-dot
My guess is that it was too expensive and sales were poor. I remember when it came out I though it looked really, really useful, then I saw the price and turned rather pale.
Members iodine74
Can't you assign one band to be a % of the other? I could have sworn I read that. That way you could tap tempo the first and the others would recalculate themselves accordingly. I don't have a huge need to do that myself so I don't know the details. Members Condomondo
Thanks for the info gang. Man in space how much are you asking for the UD stomp? And what are you going to use instead?
