Members atomicfear
I read that Hetfield used a rat for KEA. Is it a good pedal? I am not sure if it is what I want, but it would be great for nastalgia. Would it be a better buy than the Metal muff or Boss distortion?

Members LoneStarGuitar
never read anything personally about hetfield using a rat, just the marshalls modded by Jose Arredondo (sp??) With my JMP, by plugging into the high channel and using humbuckers, I can get all th erhythm tones from KEA. Add a tubescreamer, and you have the leads. Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
I was under the impression that all Kurt and James' parts were played on acoustics going through 900 Watt stacks for KEA?

Members The Burninator
I have a RAT2.It does kick ass.I never played the metal muff, but the I like the rat better than anyof the boss distortions I remeber playing through.I find the rat to be quite versetile, and it is responsive to playingdynmics and the guitar's volume knob - especially with lower gain settings. One disadvantage is the unussual adaptor jack, but it is not that much of a big deal.
