Members fatbackribs
I posted these earlier on TGP. Although this might fit better on the acoustic forum, I figured that some folks around here might also be interested in the Edirol R-09 recorder and the Kurzweil Mangler. cheers. -FBR. I had the recorder about 2 feet from the Lowden. Back behind the R-09 and to the sides were two amps being fed by a Kurzweil, Mangler, providing ambience from stereo tapped echos with the effects mix at 100%. The Lowden has an Amulet pickup system installed which provides a stereo signal. I ran my Cannon A70 on vid mode, simultaneously with the R-09 and then synched the audio and video together using QuicktimePro and iMovie. I was trying different compression schemes betwen the two clips so you'll see see the video quality dip way down in one of them, but the audio stays pretty consitant. Over all, I'm quite pleased with the R-09. The light plastic casing doesn't install a lot of confidence in it's durability, but the ease of use and the sound quality for a device this size is amazing.
