Members rockfan
Just a brief recap of the concert in Houston on Sat.The Pretenders were the opening act; still good after all these years. I remember owning the 45 for "Brass In Pocket." The Who:Pete: Guitar/acousticRoger: vocals/harmonica/tamborine/whirling micPete's brother: rhythm guitarZak Starkey (Ringo's son): drums.Pino Palladino: bassJohn Bundrick: keys (Yamaha/Kurzweil) They started with the new stuff, not bad.The first classic was "Baba O'Riley." The crowd went nuts. After the song the crowd gave them a standing ovation for a few minutes. Pete felt he needed to speak. He talked about how the synth part came about. For those who still don't know, he stated he was messing around with a synth at home and came up with the rhythm, afterwards he added the band to that rhythm. Of course they played other classics: Who Are You, My Generation, Won't Get Fooled Again, You Better You Bet, Athena, Eminence Front. Overall, a great concert. The only negative comment is that Roger struggled for those notes.
Members triton76
Too bad about Roger. When I saw the Who do Quadrophenia several years ago he was amazing. Also Simon Townsend played lead guitar and Pete played acoustic all night which surprised me. I'm glad I got to see them but no Baba O'
Members ckcondon
Sorry to hijack the thread, but how can I get that synth sample for Baba O'Riley? I'd like to add that song to our setlist. Unfortunately, I'm new to the sampling game and am still learning. I'd be triggering from an Alesis SPD-S Thanks!
