Members pjmuck
I'm entertaining the thought of getting into midi guitar, and I'm considering either the GI-20 or a GR-33. I know the GI-20 is only pitch to midi converter with no internal sounds, but I'm considering using outboard synths and soft synths anyway. Does the GI-20 track better than the GR-33 when using outboard gear? And what about the older GI-10, which had a mic input. How well did the voice to midi conversion work? Is anyone doing voice to midi conversion and if so what do you recommend? I found this online but the price is pretty steep: http://www.healingmusic.net/MidiVoxFrame1Source1.htm
Members JustinThyme
If I recall, the GI-20 will have better tracking with external synths than the GR-33 will. But you will always get better tracking using the internal sounds, as it doesn't have to go through the MIDI conversion stage.
