Members c2dzmm
I am running a digitech rp-7 to the effects return of my 2203 JCM 800. I am wondering if I should run the e.q. or boost pedal before or after the rp-7? I am running my wah before. I am debating on a mxr 10 band e.q., boss 7 band, or the new mxr/custom audio electronics boost pedal. I need a solo boost. Thanks
Members comfortablynumb
If you want a clean solo boost, put the EQ after the RP-7. Also, don't disregard the Danelectro Fish & Chips EQ. Top notch quality for $30. Mine sees lots of use every week and I've never had a problem with it.
Members Web Surf
You should use one before and one after the distortion unit. Let me explain : If you use heavy distortion, the bass strings generate high order harmonics. This drowns out the treble strings So you needs to reduce the bass before the distortion But that makes the final sound lacking in the low end. So you need to boost the low end back up again after the distortion.
Members waveman
OD before the RP-7 for hot boost and EQ after clean boost. When I had mine, I usually just put an od in front, and set the next patch up with the levels up 2 or three notches for clean boost, depending on the amp.
